This year’s Race around Austria will take place from 12th to 18th August. It will be the toughest race I will have taken part in. The route is 2150 km long with 28.000 m of elevation. Time limit for all solo men is 144 hours. Last weekend we went on a reconnaissance mission through the Alpine part of the route which is the hardest and also the prettiest, including three mountain passes over 2.000 m above see level. My only goal for this race is to finish it within the time limit. Since it is the same for all men, I have no intention to compete with younger guys. However my ability to finish such a race will strongly influence our final decision concerning our start at RAAM 2012.
